Global MBA Testimonials
The process of creating value through work-integrated learning is extraordinary. It shifts the primary learning experience from the confines of academic institutions to the actual workplaces of our students. This transformation leads to an unparalleled sense of purpose, as it transitions skills training from theoretical teaching to the invaluable experience gained on the job.
Additionally, work-integration redirects the traditional focus of study from analysis to practical implementation. It is the act of implementation that has the power to bring about real change in the world. This new approach enables students to realize their potential in effecting positive changes within their work environments.
We invite you to explore the remarkable feedback from some of our students who have been willing to openly share their experiences of creating genuine value in their workplaces.

I would like to thank you for conducting the residential on operations management last week. I found it very informative and engaging. I especially enjoyed the session on how to deliver constructive feedback and the role-play exercises that followed. I learned some valuable techniques that I can use in my daily interactions with my colleagues and clients. Your training has inspired me to improve my operations management skills and become a more confident and assertive COO. I appreciate your expertise and enthusiasm for the topic. You are a great trainer and a role model for me. Thank you again IBR for sharing your knowledge and experience with us. |

I have seen projects that have been implemented with lack of clarity, without documented communication plan and risks management strategy. After doing this assignment, I realized how these projects were taken for granted and were at risk for failure. This assignment was an eyer opener for me not to take project management for granted. For my next project I will be equipped with skills and knowledge from this course to successfully define, plan and implement any project. |

This assignment has created so much value for me, because I’m very passionate about change and people. I have realised that there is so much work to do on my side, but I’m glad I came to across the information of development of management skills. Having written the assignment will definitely assist me redo certain things with my team especially on the part of positive change and team development really stood out for me. Because if one gets that wrong then the whole team will be in shambles. This was definitely a little life skills journey for me. |
Developing Management Skills |

A very enlightening experience. I had no idea that Human Resources Management is such a broad area beyond hiring (and firing) people. I was particularly interested in linking strategy to HR and HR to performance. Building and participating in high performance teams is at the centre of my work so I have already started using the knowledge I gained from the residential period. New ideas on conflict management are quite practical and worth exploring in the same way as we manage change in our organisations. Indeed, knowledge of leadership and motivation makes us better managers. Many thanks to Prof. Jannie Le Roux for his great knowledge sharing skills. It was really exciting. Most exciting for me is the ability to apply what I have learned, immediately. |

Before studying this course, I actually believed that we had a robust performance management system at Boka Tobacco Floors. However, this course has opened my eyes to all the shortcomings of our current methods and practical ways in which we can improve. |

The assignment provided me with useful information that is relevant to sustain the Supervisory Skills Development programme. Most important is the realization that interpersonal communication is critical for a mutually rewarding experience between myself as the mentor and my mentees and between mentees and their peers. I am motivated to study further and gain deeper understanding of coaching, counselling, and mentoring, how the three are connected and the different ways of applying each of them to the learning process. I can start implementing what I have learned immediately. |

This course is my best so far. I discovered the crucial concept of supportive communication that preserves or enhance positive relationships. To be honest, I did not know about it in my personal dealings, in my relation with family and friends, as well as in my career when dealing with colleagues and customers. |

The invoice analysis process highlighted that traditional financial reporting of just an income statement, balance sheet and cash-flow statements are inadequate for management to be fully equipped to make informed decisions. Management accounting provides the added “blind-spot” financial visuals of how the company is really doing before numbers reach the back-office. Understanding what the Average Rate Index unlocks for analysis, and focusing on profits as opposed to revenue, has been a game changer for me personally. I have also appreciated the change of “budgeting” from the bottom being Net Profit going up to Gross Profit as a new way of doing things and placing value on required profits for the next season. In conclusion, as a financial executive whose is forever a student of the craft, I try not to take any form of education for granted and I am grateful for the different Management Accounting methodology taught in this series. |

The Analysis process works as an eye opener to that which is hidden from normal financial analysis. The numbers indeed tell a more in-depth story and I found that managers can choose to be better informed with honest feedback coming out of such numerical analysis. Contributions Based Activity is not marred with jargon and fancy standards which govern financial statements, and it is therefore not ambiguous. |

I have come to realize that there is a lot of current principles and misconceptions that are being implemented that are harmful for myself, and the people around me. I am astonish how easy it is, without even noticing, to be ineffective as manager. The margin of improvement in the future are vast. On the one hand I am excited to see the end results of a project if I truly adhere and implement these principles, however on the other hand, I know that it will not be easy to demolish old habits. This will truly be a time consuming challenge, but I am sure that when the outcome finally arrive it would have been worth it. |

The lessons I learned during the analysis process are enormous and broadened my understanding of the reporting systems of the business and seemingly minor factors which have effect on the profitability of the business. |

This company and industry are completely new to me, and this assignment has fast tracked my learning of both, with pleasure. Being an avid supporter of Africans coming up with solutions to African problems, it is my hope that my company's solutions do make an impact both internationally and domestically, because the need is surely present in our communities, and nature has already provided relief. |

I have learned that having an amazing product is pointless if it does not solve the customers’ problem better than the market does. No matter how brilliant the idea is, if it does not impact the life of the customer positively, it is not worth pursuing. |

The course has created value to me (and my company) by providing a broader way of assessing the potential benefits of investing in a foreign market. Typically we would always focus on the financial projections without necessarily considering other key factors, especially those of a legal nature. Now I would ask first, what kind of law is practiced as this could have immense implications on the potential to operate successfully and the cost of doing so. Preparation to accommodate cultural differences is extremely important to fuel success. I did not regard this as important in the past. Understanding how to assess the global business environment using a wholistic approach through the incorporation of the PESTE analysis is also a major value addition and great take away from this course for me. Generally working with proposals within the organisation I am a lot more comfortable challenging decisions to incorporate entities within specific locations. There must be an analysis that is as objective as possible, which is what I have learnt. |

This proposal has created sufficient value to the company as to which the company can physically present this proposal to the potential investor in the future if additional investment is required. |

I was so grateful to find such a quality experience for my master degrees journey at IBR. The Global MBA aligned perfectly with my career goals and the cost was less prohibitive than other options I considered. The learning model allowed for less interruption to my work life than I initially feared. The rigor of the programme was challenging but achievable and gave me confidence that the expense was an investment in my own personal and professional growth. I also appreciated the significant learning resources that were offered; more than I could have ever imagined! Possibly the best attribute of the IBR was the quality of the professors. I consistently felt supported, valued, and respected as a busy adult learner and was able to succeed in completion of my MBA degree, opening doors to wonderful advancement in my career. |

A great learning experience. Thanks to Prof. Danny Abramovich for demystifying the subject of Marketing. When concepts are explained by the exceptionally talented, life becomes much easier. I am truly inspired. For me, the most important part of the learning journey with IBR is that I can apply what I have learned at work and in my personal life as soon as I have completed each course. The visits to CityZone, Wework and Mazeh9 were particularly insightful. Many thanks to Prof. Andreas Kelling for the excellent choice of these places. Success in business starts with IBR! |
